Did you get answers for these questions? I recently started looking into Android App customizations and am struggling with questions similar to yours.
Also, I am able to see some of my changes reflected on the iPad App, but on the Android app, other than extension fields I am unable to add anything.
Is there any documentation on how to do developments for Apps?
